Idioms, jargon and Norwegian · original content

The idiom, jargon and Norwegian word decks are original Vocab Voyage content. Definitions, example sentences and translations were written for this project and are not copied from a dictionary or phrase book. They were not reviewed by native speakers, so please treat them as a learning aid and report errors.

How the tiers work

English tiers use word length and dictionary sense frequency. Japanese tiers use reading length and source-spelling complexity. They are approximate practice tiers, not certified CEFR or JLPT levels. Twenty-four authored starter words are included for each language.

Long vowels use expanded romaji (ou, oo, uu, ee); macrons are accepted too. Japanese contains homophones: without kanji or context, a reading can have other meanings beyond the selected dictionary sense.
